Mattekelle Estate

Mattekelle Estate was so named because of its levelled land in an undulating hilly terrain, and is situated in the heart of Dimbula planting region just 9 kilometres from the Talawakelle town. It borders the Tea Research Institute of Sri Lanka whose experiments and adaptative trials are still carried out at the estate. Situated at an elevation of 1,372 meters above sea level, covering an extent of 361.96 hectares, Mattakelle is a model tea estate in every sense of the word. Over the years, the estate has maintained high yield, profits and the highest gross sale average.
