Houpe Estate
Houpe Estate is situated in Kahawatte in the Ratnapura District. Located at the foothills of the historic Balangoda hills and surrounded by an array of waterfalls, the Udawalwe National Park and the ancient Sinharaja Forest Reserve, Houpe is reputed for its high quality black tea. Houpe also has rubber, coconut and cinnamon grown within its 747.82 hectares. In November 2007, Houpe was brought under Dilmah’s Ethical Tea Partnership and currently employs over 1,000 workers.
